E-mailed that was sent through to all the families, thought everyone following them might like to hear about how their first day went, as by the sounds of how the night went they may not remember hehe

Hi Everyone

This is Bonnie relaying todays events to everyone while the holiday trio (no not Batman & Robin) are relaxing and drinking (how unusual!!).

Okay picked up from airport approx 9.10am. (this is in detail as when they were at Customs none of them knew where they were staying and they nearly got jailed and put on Border Security as it was running that day) and you thought they were staid and unexciting – not so!!!!!!!

Okay next step. Arrived at unit, took bags upstairs, needed a wrestler to get Aileen’s up there. Had comfort stop and then took off around 10.30am went down the South Coast via the following path.

Took The Royal National Park direction (Sir Betram Stevens Drive (they want to know who he is – they can google when they get home), another google is Lady Carrington towards Bundeena, went their and Bonnie Vale (both beautifully little beachside townships, not a big population, only one way in and out. Then followed the Tourist Drive to Wattamolla Reserve where there was a waterfall and beautiful little secluded sandy water area. Then off to Garie beach which has been restored and magnificent Life Saving Club and training centre with lovely car park. Stopped at Lookout just before Garie beach, magnificent. Then off back to Sir Betram Stevens Drive and through Ottford (poice car with motorbike lying down and badly broken front piece), stopped at Stanwell Tops where the paragliders fly from and fly back (if they are lucky and don’t smash into the cliff face). That was awesome, Views from there showed the Port Kembla Chimney (steelworks) and Seaview Bridge (which is a new bridge built over the sea and meanders approx 2.5 kms. Passed through Coalcliff, Clifton, Scarborough, Wombara, Coledale, Austinmer and Thirroul. Beautifuly coastline. We drove up to Headlands (where they made a show of about 8 episodes) but was full, the place has a lot of character but the girls didn’t get a look in as it was so busy, so travlled further to Beaches Hotel in Thirroul for Lunch. Yum Yum!!!!!

Then through Bulli, Woonona, Corrimal onto the northern disitrbutor to Wollongong, bypassed that, passed Dapto Greyhound Track, past Albion Park, Oak Flats, ShellHarbour onto Kiama. First went to Bombo which has a lovely beach and was a dead end (but no one knew that – an adventure). Then Kiama, lovely little heritage cottage as stores with wonderful goods inside to buy. One elephant less in one shop (wonder who that is???)

Went up to the Lighthouse, wharf and blow hole. Wow!!! Unexpected 3 beautifuly whales, followed with eyes, camera and binoculars. Watched for at least 20 minutes. Blowing a gale but nice (for some). Saw pelicans at the wharf, boy are they big!!!! Then went onto Jamberoo and came out at Albion Park, back on freeway and direct route back to Sutherland. Stopped to get ice, Sue tried to get it out of a tackle bait freezer and not the ice one, funny to watch.

Came home, started drinking (they did), home made sausage rolls (why recipe is attached) haven’t tried them yet. Home made soup and French stick. (hope there are not too many splinters in it).

Total of 254km’s approx. Home by 6pm.

Aileen & Laura looking over maps and timetables for trip into city tomorrow with snuggle rug over them. Sue and & I in short sleeves and shorts – we are tough!!!

All had a good day, all tired, bottle of baileys gone, what are we opening next?

Lots of love

If computer will fire up tomorrow will do this again and then that’s it as in Perth and on cruise after that,

Take care

Bonnie, Bruce, Sue, Laura and Aileen

Planning

Down to the Wire

So the four of us have been planning this Asia Cruise over the last two years plus for some, less for others.
But bottom line is that we have had a fantastic time deciding on which cruise to do, getting together every month to catch up and talk about everything that is involved in the Cruise and the process that we have taking.
The getting together has been great as it means that we are know all way closer which is great and importants the four of us are going to be sharing a very small room, on board the ship for 17 nights.
Once the Cruise was booked the next big step was then deciding on exercusions at each port.
We have all managed to fill each of our days in the ports with activities that are going to involve us emerging ourselfs in the culture of the countries we are visiting.
The next big step was going through and sorting out documents and starting to pack and seeing what we need to take but also keeping our luggage under the 20kg limit set by the airlines.
